Re- Polling Was Done Peacefully At Sardulgarh and Muktsar With 90% Turnout

Re-polling in the 9 polling stations of the Muktsar assembly constituency and one from each of Sardulgarh and Moga done peacefully with the heavy turnout yesterday. In these three assembly constituencies appropriate security arrangements were made at all the 9 polling stations.

Re-polling was ordered by EC due to malfunctioning of EVMs at 11 polling stations falling in Mansa,Muktsar and Moga districts. Candidates who are contesting from Muktsar constituency were surprised with the orders of re-polling.

Yesterday at all 9 polling stations in Muktsar huge number of voters cast their votes. Out of 8,168 voters , 7,302 voters cast their votes and takes the polling percentage to 89.40%. During the February 4 Punjab Assembly Elections 78.04% polling has been recorded.

Korewala village in Sardulgarh assembly constituency polling station 1149 voters out of total 1,272 voters cast their votes and takes the polling percentage to 90.33%.

At a polling station in Moga out of 1,062 voters , 863 voters cast their votes. 81.26% polling percentage was recorded which is more than the February 4 assembly elections.

Sumeet Jarangal district electoral officer of Muktsar told that the polling at all 9 polling stations went peacefully . 89.40% Polling percentage at all the 9 polling stations was recorded .

Varinder Sharma DEO of Mansa told that at Korewala village booth in Sardulgarh constituency the repolling was done peacefully without any problem.
