A police officer told that tension prevailed in Punjab’s Majitha constituency due to a clashes between the supporters of SAD and Congress.
Police personnels rushed to the Mian Pandher village in Amritsar following the clashes.
In this clash two groups were involved. Those who were injured in this class were taken to the hospital. Paramjit Singh Inspector of Punjab Police told that we have deployed police forces in the village as well as in nearby areas.
The clashes took place yesterday after the peaceful polling for the Punjab Assembly Elections ended. Both the groups used bricks, stones and rods told by a police official .
For Majitha assembly seat a bitter contest between Bikram Singh Majithia who is the Punjab Revenue Minister and Congress candidate Lalli Majithia. It is also declared as a sensitive constituency by the Election Commission.
