Arrangements For Counting Of Votes Are On Full Swing

Punjab electoral authorities have already started preparing for the counting of votes on March11 at three different counting centres in Bathinda.

The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the work for installation of barriers at the counting stations is at the stage of being completed. The plannings of transferring the EVMs from strong rooms to the counting halls in a safe manner have been already made.

Further he added that to capture video of the entire counting process the cameras are being installed at each counting centre successfully. As per the guidelines of election commission additional security arrangements have been done. Thori also mentioned that separated seating planning was done for the candidates.

The counting of votes will begin at 8 AM and will likely to be completed in 6 to 7 hours. As per the election commission guidelines the ballot unit is switched on in the presence of senior poll officials and counting agents only.
