SAD is heading for another big fight – Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee polls which will take place on February 26 after the Punjab assembly elections .
Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda had made announcement of support to SAD before the Punjab assembly elections. AAP is supporting Panthic Sewa Dal that is contesting the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee polls for the first time.
Manjit Singh GK the president of DSGMC claims that he had opposed the dera support to Akali candidates as well as called it against the Sikh tenets. He also said that it was only DSGMC that had stopped the dera from last four years from spreading its roots in Delhi.
In DSGMC polls there are three players in the fray and would elect 46 members out of 53 members in the DSGMC house.
Avtar Singh, AAP MLA said that there is no involvement of the AAP in DSGMC polls . And we are against it that any political party taking part in the religious matters of the Sikhs.
Sarna, who was president of the DSGMC for 10 years between 1995 and 2013 said that everyone knows what they have done as well as they are unable to pay to DSGMC employees.
On the PSD’s entry into DSGMC polls, Sarna told that it was an arm of AAP which is a Hindu led party could never win the DSGMC polls. He also said that the contest would be between SAD and his party.
Sarna and Avtar Singh both said that SAD violated the Sikh tenets by taking the support of Dera Sacha Sauda during Punjab assembly elections.
