BJP just releases the list with the names of 17 candidates who will be contesting for 17 seats in Punjab Assembly elections. Out of 17, the six seats will be represented by ministers who are already in rule in SAD – BJP Government. Some of them will be dropped as they are exceeding age limit.
Mr. J P Nadda, Union Minister who is also Central Election Committee (CEC) Secretary announced these names in Delhi on January 12, 2016 in a press conference. he also confirmed that other names from BJP will be announced soon.
5 MLAs are among the 17 candidates list announced today. It is also stated that Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina will be contesting from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat. Mr. Rajesh Hani will fight from seat of Amritsar East which was further held by Navjot Kaur Sidhu who left BJP who left BJP along with her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu.
